Story Intro
24 year old Indie has been working for a large tech company for a little over two years now.
She doesn’t love her job, but it pays the bills, her co-workers are alright, and nothing super weird happens there. . . that she knows of yet.
She is under the impression everything is normal at work until one late night shift. Her boredom and the soft sound of humming leads her to the lower part of the store, where she witnesses a meeting between manageers.
They’re all wearing bizarre animal masks, most seeming homemade, and standing in a circle with a well of water in the middle of them
- THIS IS THE INCITING INCIDENT.
Indie comes back later after getting some co-workers to follow, and investigate the well.
When they look inside they’re surprised not to see water at all, but a flimsy ladder leading deep down into a dark pit that is only vaguely lit by a small light at the end.
Leading the climb down, Indie descends down the ladder until she reaches the end where an unlocked door greets her.
Upon entering, Indie and her co-workers venture into what seems like a completely different society. Functioning seemingly similar to them on the surface, but with a dark undertone, our main character ventures forth into a new reality.
